The Tolix chair has been around since 1934. This french galvanised sheet-metal chair was originally used in cafés, hospitals and factories, but it’s lightness, it’s solidity, it’s versatility and it’s undeniable industrial look soon made it an interior design favourite and the chair can now be found in many homes as part of an industrial scheme, an eclectic style or simply as a classic design artefact.
Imitations of the chair can now be found in many furniture stores in a variety of colours and at a more affordable price then it’s original version. Lately, I have found myself wondering how the Model A chair (the model seen in the header picture) would look in my place. I’m thinking about adding two around my dining room table for a mix and match look. Mmm… still thinking about it. I’ll keep you posted!
